The Walesby Aquatics tropical fish house is home to 48 individually filtered tanks and over 70 different species of fish. The decision to custom build the fish house by themselves and individually filter each tank was made to give better control over each individual environment.  So many different species have slightly different water requirements and we are easily able to adjust any tank to suit. This type of system allows new shipments to be separated and quarantined away from existing stock and should any health problems arise they are contained within a single tank where they can be dealt with accordingly. All new shipments of fish are quarantined before being released for sale to ensure that no problems occur once the fish have been sold.
 As for the species of tropical fish available at Walesby Aquatics the main concentration is on community fish with a few other specialist species available. The main stock is made up of Livebearers, Characins, Catfish, Rainbowfish, Rasbora’s, Danios, Anabantoids, Angelfish, Loaches and Barbs. The more specialist species are the ‘L’ number pleco’s and ‘C’ number corydoras.
A good stock of fresh potted plants is always available with new deliveries arriving on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. For the planted or general aquarium we also have planted bogwood, rock and coconut shells available.

A good display of aquariums is showcased from starter kits right through to larger tanks so whether you are a beginner or looking to upgrade we will have something to suit.
